This weekend’s beautiful weather makes us feel like the harsh summer is finally in the rearview (or side) mirror. We’re excited to welcome back those who took a summer break, and we’re looking forward to some great workouts ahead. But don’t be fooled, Houston still has hot days to come, but triple digits likely won’t appear until next year.

IRONMAN 70.3 WACO

Let’s start by giving a shoutout to our very own George, who’s gearing up for IRONMAN Waco 70.3 next weekend. George, we’re cheering you on and have no doubt you’ll crush it! If you’re also gearing up for a race, big or small, let us know so we can send our support your way! Too bad the race wasn’t today – PERFECT RACE WEATHER!

De-load Week

Hats off to everyone for their impressive work over the last three weeks as we increased the weight and dropped the reps. Now, it’s time for a de-load week. You’ll notice lighter weights on the barbells, but don’t be tempted to add extra; this week is all about allowing your body to recover. Focus on form and control, round down on weights, and let your body reset. Make sure you’re fueling up with whole foods and hitting your protein intake (1g per lb of body weight; 150-200g for men, 100-150g for women). Prioritize sleep to get ready for the next building cycle. Let’s get those #GAINZ

Whether you’ve signed up for races like HYROX, Spartan, 5k’s, 10k’s, half/full marathons, Tough Mudder, or just working to improve your health, focus on consistency and setting healthy habits to reach your goals. Let us and your coaches know about your goals so we can help you reach them.
